Landscape Designer in Aldie VA

As a landscape designer working in Aldie VA I’ve gotten to do some incredibly cool projects. From plantings to patios to pizza ovens, landscaping in Aldie VA is a blast. Here are some projects I think you’ll dig as much as I do.

Plants and a rock fountain by a landscape designer in Aldie VA

We were brought in by a local landscape architect to do the plantings. After learning more about the site and having some long conversations with the homeowners about what they did and didn’t like, I completely redid the planting plan.

We settled on a tapestry of native plants interwoven with a few high-impact non-native plants.

The original design didn’t really take the challenging slope from the driveway to the backyard into account. Using the existing Forest Pansy Redbud as my centerpiece, I designed a drystacked fieldstone retaining wall and steps. Lush plantings finish this Aldie VA landscape design and also prevent erosion.

The landscape architect had left a large, challenging space next to the pavilion that was too big for a simple planting but too small for a tree. Luckily my guys are among the best water feature installers in Virginia so I had a ready solution. I used a manmade rock column water feature from Russell Watergardens that looks like real stone but at a fraction of the weight (and cost!).

Outdoor porch and kitchen in Aldie VA

When you’re a good cook you want to get the best tools and show off to your neighbors and friends. I get it. I’m so proud of my 72 hour pizza dough I would make it for any celebrity. For this project I did as a landscape designer in Aldie VA, my client wanted a killer back porch, outdoor kitchen, and pizza oven.

The back porch extends the home’s living space into the backyard. Infrared heaters and ceiling fans make it a comfortable destination throughout most of the year. The homeowner knows about wood so he suggested Black Locust for the decking and Sassafras for the accents, and I’m sold on it.

We kept it simple for the outdoor kitchen, making it primarily about prep space.

The centerpiece, of course, is this gorgeous pizza oven. We fought the weather getting it in but it’s churned out hundreds of pizzas at this point.

Cooking with fire isn’t enough; we even squeezed in a firepit to allow the homeowners and their guests to finish the evening with a roaring fire.
