Our policy: we do not use AI for creative work

My position is firm: Revolutionary Gardens does NOT use generative artificial intelligence (genAI) for the creation of our designs. Any designs you see have been, and will continue to be, created by humans. I do not use AI as a shortcut to developing beautiful, one of a kind landscape designs that work. As the great Missy Elliott said, my style cannot be duplicated or recycled.

GenAI works by looking for patterns and applying “solutions” that might fit the image and prompts it was given. It does not create a buildable plan and it certainly does not create a design focused on YOU.

We also do not use genAI to write for us. Blog posts, website copy, emails, and any other written work, videos, etc are also created by humans. I love sharing what I’ve learned about landscaping and construction over the last three decades. What I share gets filtered through the lens of my personal experience and a machine cannot replicate that.

Where we might use AI

It’s 2025. We use a range of software platforms to do everything from drafting and 3D modeling to managing the business. Many companies, like Adobe, have integrated AI into their tools. To the best of my knowledge I’m not using those features, but because AI is getting jammed into everything I can’t say I never use AI for anything. In this case AI may smooth out some of the repetitive processes but we still are NOT using AI to create designs or content.

The bottom line is that we’re a real company of real humans with a goal of creating beauty and delighting other real humans. We’re not about to insert a machine or an algorithm into that process to get a worse result faster.
