Virginia Stormwater Design

As more and more homes are built in Virginia, managing stormwater runoff is becoming increasingly critical. To encourage homeowners and businesses to adopt best practices, the state created VCAP – the Virginia Conservation Assistance Program. VCAP provides grant funding of up to 80% for landscape projects like rain gardens, permeable paving, and conservation landscaping. With the increased frequency of severe weather events, Virginia stormwater design is an increasingly critical part of what we do.

Because you’re applying for funding it’s a rigorous application process. That’s where we can help! As part of the design process here’s what we do:

  • Perform a site visit to identify problems and discuss solutions
  • Take detailed site measurements, including spot grades to determine where a stormwater facility would go and how much runoff it absorbs
  • Dig a test hole and show you how to monitor it for water infiltration and share the results with us
  • Create the landscape design that incorporates the stormwater or conservation landscaping
  • Provide design documents showing the required tables and calculation, the finished landscape design, cross section details, etc
  • A materials list so you can provide cost data as part of your application.

We don’t submit the application for you, but we provide all the information the state needs. Just on the off chance we missed something, we also provide up to two hours of post-submission revisions with this package.
